Data protection information
In the following, we would like to explain our philosophy in dealing with personal data that you transmit to us when visiting our website, as well as provide some basic information on data protection. We respect the data protection rights of every individual. Our services are in compliance with the legal data protection regulations set out in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the Telemedia Acts (TMG, TTDSG) and the Unfair Competition Act (UWG). 1. Visit of the website
We process personal data of our users only insofar as this is necessary for the provision of a functional website and our content and services. The processing of personal data of our users is regularly only carried out with the consent of the user. An exception applies in those cases where it is not possible to obtain prior consent for factual reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by legal regulations.
When visiting our websites, we automatically collect various information in the respective server log files. This includes, for example, the type and version number of your web browser, your operating system used, information about your Internet provider used and other similar information. This information accumulates system-related when using the Internet and is therefore technically mandatory to ensure the proper operation of a website. The legal basis for their processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. In anonymized form, this information may be used by us in the context of statistical evaluations to optimize our website.
2. Using alao services
The data entered by you in the context of the comparisons operated by alao Deutschland GmbH (hereinafter referred to as "alao" / "we") are collected, processed and stored and used by alao on its own responsibility for the purpose of comparison and offer preparation as well as further processing and support.
If you perform an availability check on our website at the beginning of an order or independently of it at your specific connection address, this address data will be stored at this point for technical reasons, as otherwise alao would not be able to provide you with a concrete availability result. The stored data will be completely deleted after 24 hours.
In the context of the availability check, your address data is transferred to the provider via the provider's respective interface and checked for the purpose of creating an offer and carrying out further pre-contractual measures. The legal basis for the above data processing is in each case Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO.
If you enter your mobile phone number on our website at the beginning of an order or independently of it to check whether you are entitled to a combination discount or other discount granted by the provider, this number is stored for technical reasons at this point, as alao would otherwise not be able to provide you with a specific offer. The stored data will be completely deleted after 24 hours.
In the context of the check for the combination benefit, your mobile phone number is transmitted to the provider via the provider's respective interface and checked for the purpose of creating the offer and carrying out further pre-contractual measures. The legal basis for the above data processing is in each case Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO.

No data will be passed on to uninvolved third parties without your consent, unless this is absolutely necessary to process a contract/conclusion that you have made with us or to prepare an offer, or unless we are legally obliged to do so.
You can revoke the consent you have given us at any time and/or object to the future use of your data.
alao also uses the data entered in pseudonymous form for statistical purposes, for market research purposes and to gain knowledge for the improvement of its own website, but only insofar as you have not exercised your legal right to object to this use of your data. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.
As soon as you enter personal data into the comparison modules operated by us, communication from this point on takes place in encrypted form. We connect you to our security server so that the data cannot be read by anyone. On the basis of the SHA-256 RSA encryption procedure, we encrypt your data and transmit it in the secured https mode. This standard meets the highest requirements and is considered a particularly secure standard. For your own security, we recommend that you use the latest browser versions and virus scanners. You can recognize the activated encryption by the activated lock symbol at the bottom of the browser status bar or directly above the comparison module. We protect our servers and thus your data with the most modern security programs and firewalls, which prevent unauthorized access attempts right from the start.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
As part of the continuous improvement of the offer for our users and for interest-based customer targeting, third-party tracking technologies may be used by us, which use anonymous and temporary "session cookies" or "persistent cookies". Cookies are usually small text files that a web server transfers to your device when you visit a website. Cookies are also equated with other technical processes that behave like cookies, all of the following explanations accordingly apply to these technologies as well, regardless of the specific designation.
"Session cookies" (temporary cookies) are not permanently stored on the respective device with which you visit our website and disappear when you close the browser. These cookies may contain, among other things, information about the browser you are using, the screen resolution, the operating system you are using, but also other individual information. These cookies do not collect information about you for marketing purposes, nor do they store which websites you have visited. 4. Tracking Technologies
4.1. Tracking Technologies from Google
Google Analytics
alao uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Ltd, Google Inc, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google").
Google Analytics is used to analyze and regularly improve the use of the website. The statistics obtained can be used to improve the offer and make it more interesting for users. The use of Google Analytics can be deactivated at any time at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. An opt-out cookie will be set, which prevents the collection of your data during future visits to this website.
It is not excluded that data processing takes place outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. This is done on the basis of the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission. Google Remarketing
This website uses a remarketing function from Google. This function is used to present interest-based advertisements to visitors of the website within the Google advertising network. For this purpose, the aforementioned analytics reports from Google Analytics are used to show visitors advertisements that relate to content that the visitor has previously accessed on websites. The data generated by this process cannot be traced back to a specific person. The remarketing function can be deactivated at any time at https://www.google.de/settings/ads.
Google Tag Manager
With Google Tag Manager, marketers can manage website tags via an interface. However, the Tag Manager itself, which deploys the tags, works without cookies and does not collect any personal data. The Tag Manager merely triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data. For these respective third-party providers, corresponding explanations can be found in this privacy policy. However, the Google Tag Manager does not use this data. If you have set or otherwise made a deactivation of cookies, this will be observed for all tracking tags that were used with the Google Tag Manager; the tool therefore does not change your cookie settings. Google may ask your permission to share your information with other Google products to enable certain features, such as making it easier to add new conversion tracking tags for AdWords. In addition, Google developers review product usage information from time to time to further optimize the product.
Google Ads
We use "Google Ads" on our website, an advertising service from Google, which enables us to draw attention to our offer with the help of external advertising media on external websites and to determine the success of individual advertising measures. For this purpose, cookies and pixel tags are set that process the following parameters: IP address, browser information, usage data, date and time of visit, location information, cookie ID. The legal basis for this is your consent, which you can revoke at any time.
We ourselves do not collect and process any personal data as part of the advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. Transfers to third countries are possible. The EU standard contractual clauses of the European Commission have been concluded as suitable guarantees. 4.2. Further Tracking Technologies
4.2.1. Facebook Custom Audience / Conversion Tracking
We use the Facebook Pixel, a service of Facebook Inc, 1601 S California Ave, Palo Alto, California 94304, USA ("Facebook"). Facebook Pixel enables Facebook to display our ads on Facebook, so-called "Facebook Ads", only to those Facebook users who have been visitors to our website, especially if interest in our online offer has been shown. Facebook Pixel also allows us to check whether a user was redirected to alao.de after clicking on our Facebook Ads. The user's actions are stored in cookies on your terminal device. These cookies allow Facebook to match your user data with your Facebook account data. The collected data is anonymous and not visible to us and can only be used in the context of ad placements. If you have a user account with Facebook and are registered, Facebook can assign the visit to your user account.
We use Facebook Pixel for marketing and optimization purposes, in particular to place relevant and interesting ads for you on Facebook and thus improve our offer and make it more interesting for users.

4.2.2. Bing Ads – Universal Event Tracking
We use Bing Ads (www.bingads.microsoft.com), provided and operated by Microsoft.
The associated data transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.
Microsoft sets a cookie on your end device if you have reached our website via a Microsoft Bing ad. Microsoft and we can thus recognize that someone has clicked on an ad, has been redirected to our website and has reached a previously determined target page. We only learn the total number of users who clicked on a Bing ad and were then redirected to the landing page.
Microsoft uses the cookie to process information from which usage profiles are created using pseudonyms. These usage profiles are used to analyze visitor behavior and are used to display advertisements. The legal basis for the use of Bing Ads is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO.

4.2.3. HubSpot
This website uses the email and live chat software of HubSpot Germany GmbH, Am Postbahnhof 17, 10243 Berlin, in order to provide you with options for contacting us in an uncomplicated manner if necessary.
4.2.3.1. Live-Chat
Hubspot uses a functional "chatflow cookie", a text file that is stored on your computer and that enables a personal conversation in the form of a real-time chat on the website with you. The data collected is not used to personally identify the visitor to this website and is not merged with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym. Personal data, such as name, e-mail address are only used if they are voluntarily provided to us by the visitor. However, they are not stored. The cookies set by HubSpot are also used to make the chat available to customers again after closing and, if possible, to reconnect the customer with the same customer advisor.
For the start of a chat history, in certain cases, for example when the customer has been on the website for a certain amount of time, an invitation to chat with a customer advisor is played. However, data is not transmitted to the customer advisors until the customer sends a message in the chat. When the chat is started, the following personal data is collected: Date and time of the call, browser type/version, the operating system used and the URL of the currently visited website at alao. If the chat is not active at the moment, the customer's e-mail address is also requested.
During the chat communication, the customer advisor does not see the chat entries of the customer, but only after the customer has clicked on "send" or pressed the enter key. The live chat can be terminated by the customer at any time. In order to be able to answer customer queries in the best possible way, it is possible for content to be exchanged with other customer advisors or company employees.
The chats are stored at the provider HubSpot. alao does not archive the content of the chats and does not have access to the content or the personal data exchanged after the chat has ended.
4.2.3.2. E-Mail-Communication
HubSpot uses "cookies," text files stored on your computer that allow tracking of the opening of responses to your incoming emails sent by us to you, as well as clicks on the hyperlinks we insert. Link tracking is only applied to non-URL text. The data collected is not used to personally identify the customer and is not merged with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym. Personal data, e.g. name, e-mail address, are only used if they are voluntarily provided by the visitor when contacting us or during the ordering process.
When alao sends a tracked email, HubSpot embeds an invisible one-pixel image in the email message as soon as it is sent. When the customer opens the email and the image loads, alao receives a notification. If the customer's email client does not allow the tracking pixel, HubSpot cannot track the opened email. HubSpot tracking can be disabled by the customer in the following situations:
- The customer formats their email in plain text.
- The customer's email client does not automatically download images.
- Filter settings in the customer's email client automatically remove all images for incoming emails.
When opening the e-mail or clicking on hyperlinks embedded in our e-mails, the following personal data is transmitted to alao: Date and time of the call, e-mail address and the hyperlink clicked by the customer.
The e-mails are stored by the provider HubSpot. This personal data is stored based on the legal basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO, so that alao has the possibility at any time to access and track the email communication between customer and alao.

5. Social Plugins
The social buttons displayed on our subpages only serve as static links to the pages/services centrally operated by alao there and thus do not represent a direct integration of the respective plugin providers.
6. Product reviews and recommendations by e-mail
As a customer of alao, we may use your email address to send you an email product review and/or other review requests solely in connection with your purchase, closing and/or other analog transactions, subject to applicable law. We may also use your e-mail address and/or postal address in this context to send you product recommendations by e-mail and/or postal mail about similar goods and/or services we offer.
You can object to these evaluation requests and product recommendations at any time by sending a letter to alao Deutschland GmbH, Düsseldorf, by sending an e-mail to datenschutz@alao.de and/or at the end of each evaluation and/or product recommendation e-mail with effect for the future without incurring any costs other than the respective transmission costs according to the basic rates.
7. Data subject rights
You have the following rights vis-à-vis us under the respective legal conditions with regard to the personal data concerning you:
- Right to information;
- Right to rectification or deletion;
- Right to restriction of processing;
- Right to object to processing;
- Right to data portability.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us.
Any declaration of consent given to us can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.
8. Linking
If reference is made directly or indirectly to links that are outside the responsibility of alao, alao shall only be liable if alao is aware of the content and it would have been technically possible and reasonable for alao to prevent its use in the event of illegal content. If any damage occurs by the use of information presented there, only the author of the respective pages might be liable, not the one who has linked to these pages. alao distances itself from the material of all third parties.
